A dream realized....

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to go to Sea World. No one else ever wanted to go because it was so expensive and we could do other things for less money. Well, on this trip I was going to GO dangit!
We didn't get up as early as planned this morning and still had to pack and eat breakfast, but we got there by 11 after a 2 hour drive. The first thing we did was get a quick snack and get to Shamu Stadium for the show. It was impressive, as expected, but the whales weren't actually as big as I had thought. They do some amazing things with those animals!

We wandered around the park all day. Probably my fav part was watching people feed the sea lions. They were noisy and playful. Those wild birds would steal the fish people were throwing to the lions.
Watching the sea lions and seals. So fun.
Dolphin show. It was fun- there were a TON of dolphins, but it was also a little dancy/singy and hokey.
Dolphins underground in the viewing area.
The sea lion show was the last thing we did. It was a comedy show- pretty funny actually, but not all that exciting animal wise.
I really enjoyed the day- it was sunny for the first time this trip and fairly warm, although the breeze was cool. Quite pleasant. It's interesting though- I think when you have something you've wanted to do for your entire life, it's hard for it to live up to every expectation. It was good, but it wasn't the most amazing thing I've ever done.

When we left we drove to Cape Canaveral to get a hotel. We found a nice Holiday Inn for a reasonable price and went to eat some mexican food (way too much mexican food). It was delicious. I am feeling terribly fat after all the fast food today, so after we ate I headed down to run on the Treadmill for about 45 mins. I'm hoping to get down there tomorrow morning too- we'll see! Tomorrow we're headed to Kennedy Space Center. Should be fun and it's supposed to be another nice day. We then have a nice 3 hour drive! It's good because I started a Dan Brown book and I can't put it down, of course. That's all for now!

we went to sea world after it was closed, and it sucked. I wanted the REAL experience. I don't remember really anything about it at all other than it was dark and we didnt' stay long.

Glad you enjoyed it! In my old retail days we had a meeting down there and they closed down Sea World one night and we had the place to ourselves - it was AMAZING! Ate dinner, shows, got to go behind some scenes and then drinks of course. Nothing like getting drunk for work at Sea World!!! It was Great!!! Ahh - I miss those days!
