Field Trip!

I seriously dislike going on field trips but I did it again! And he was so happy.
We went to the discovery center in downtown kc. Such a weird place for a nature center. But it was fun!
1st grade!
They made trees.
And were bears.
Bears that made dens.
These two were really cute.
It was a fun day over all!

The Stink

So for weeks now our master bath has smelled like poop. Literally- poop, sewage, whatever. Multiple times I've searched the closet the chair behind things and under the bed for cat poop. There's none to be found. Brooks told me he thought it was the drains so I stuck my nose down there and thought- maybe, but I dunno. Well- If you haven't ever looked in there, you should.
I found. Tutorial on how to clean these so I dug in. No tools required. I do recommend taking a pic beforehand so you can get it back together right hahah.
I mean, I have no words. The stink was from there. No freaking doubt.
Brooks drain was nearly closed off completely in one spot and I got this nice lovely goo out of another. I've seen some gross things in my day people, but this takes the cake.
My method- shut of water to sink (although this isn't really a big deal). Put a bucket under the pipes and Take apart the pvc pieces. I was able do do this with just elbow grease. I didn't need any wrenches. Cover your nose here. Be prepared ok? Put all your handy pieces in your bucket and go down to the kitchen. Rinse them as best you can and then clean them. Put a huge pot of water on to boil. I soaked the parts in Castile soap and bleach and went back up. Take out the sink stopper. With dry paper towels and a long handled spoon push paper towel down into the sink drain until it comes out the bottom. Again, be prepared do this several times. Keep the stopper out. Go back down and then clean your pipes that you have soaking. I used a toothbrush. Rinse well and dry. Go back up and put everything back together. Turn the water back on and run some so you know you don't have leaks. Go back up and get your pot of water. Pour it down the drains. At this point I knew my pvc was clean but if those were so dirty what about what's in the wall? Then I put some more water on to boil. I poured 4 cups of hot vinegar together with 4 cups of water. I then got about a cup of baking soda and added 10 drops essential oil. Pour about 1/2 a cup of baking soda down the drain and then pour the vinegar mixture down. It should bubble all up nicely. Then pour more boiling water down. SO CLEAN. Win.

Royals!

We went to the royals game for scout day at the k a few weeks ago. It was so fun!
Sully had a great time.
Until the game was 15 hours long and it was too long and he wanted to leave.
The big kids loved it. Mira even loves to watch them on TV. Just like her aunt Molly.
We had such a great time we bought a 20 game package!!! More fun to come!

Easter Fun!

I got up early Easter afternoon and went to Lanas. We decorated cookies, hunted for eggs, decorated eggs, and ate A TON!

Sully loves Easter bc he loves chocolate lol.
The Easter bunny brought harry a vacuum of his own. It's not as good as mine but it will do when mommy is mean and won't let him play with the big one.

'Twas a really fun Easter!!

Can I?

My kids are so lazy. If given their choice they would never go outside, never do anything but skip from electronic screen to electronic screen. They sneak around to try and do this.  It's honestly really disheartening and totally my fault. I'm going to change it this year. I'm giving it everything I can.

A couple of weeks ago we had a big kid day where they were out of school and the boys were at daycare. I loaded them up (much to their dismay) and we went to the park in Parkville.  We rode bikes on the path. Like TWO miles. They complained the whole time. It was SO HARD and they were SO TIRED. I was very very frustrated but tried to take an air of exploration and tried to get them excited to just BE. I do think in time as long as I am persistent, I may succeed. At least partially.
Griffin didn't have a lot of confidence, but then just this week, we rode bikes to school 3 miles and he was much much more confident and even asked if we can do it again. PROGRESS PEOPLE.
Another day Mary Kate and I took the kids down to crown center to hang out at the fairy tale exhibit. It was super fun!
These next pics are from Sully and my's first visit to Deanna rose this year. He just loves the farm. But it's a long haul down there!
Learning to milk cows.
He rode this tractor for like 45 mins.
Then that day the kids got home and I forced their butts outdoors.
Mira is playing kid pitch softball this year. It's kinda painful, but I think it's a great experience. I love watching them play.
