HOSPITALIZED!

Well, Mira, mom and I went to North Carolina for the weekend and G immediately got sick :( He ran a fever and was pretty lethargic on Friday and then Saturday got pretty bad. By Saturday night Brooks felt like he needed to go to Urgent Care. I really thought they would give him a treatment or something and then let him go home- not so. He ended up getting admitted with Croup for 2 nights! ACK! By the time I was able to get home at about noon on Sunday he was feeling much better. Here are some pics of our fun at CMH.
Playing in the space under the crib.
I can't help it but I feel like he's getting cuter by the second. He has such a personality!
So cute and sweet. Starting to get tired though.
Jammies change!
Getting ready for bed with some baby lamb and a bottle. Yes, he still gets one bottle a day before bed- he takes a ton of milk out of a bottle so it's the best way for me to get big calories in him.
The chair was my ever so comfortable bed last night.
He ended up sleeping really well last night and is in a great mood today! Here he is making a tower.

We are getting ready to go home soon! YAY!

Circus!!!

Went to the circus last week. Sorry I've not been a good blogger- it's been rough figuring out our new schedule!
If you take Scary Mike out of the picture this is pretty cute :)
So excited. G had a fever the entire time- not so much fun.

My daughter LOVES big soft pretzels. She ate nearly the entire thing! She doesn't like the cheese, but she will devour them.

Just updates

So I know I have been bad about posting, but I haven't taken any pictures either. A lot has been going on and it's been really stressful. I quit my job in the operating room with cardiovascular surgery on Monday. I went back to the PICU Tuesday. It was actually a really easy transition and for that I am blessed. It wasn't that I didn't like the OR- I actually kind of did. It wasn't where I would probably end up and I didn't "love" it, but I learned a ton. The cardiac team has a bad reputation and there's a reason- they are 11 people that are VERY hard to work with. I thought I could take it- I thought it would get better with time, but after 9 weeks of it and one very bad day of crying all the way home, it was time to go back where I am appreciated, I love the work, I am treated professionally, and it's comfortable. Yesterday was one of the best days of my life. I had no idea how absolutely spoiled I am to love my job the way that I do. We've got it good. It's sad because I really did take that job for all the right reasons- it was a stable time at home, a great opportunity, in a field in which I have a ton of interest, something completely out of my comfort zone, etc, etc. I think it's terrible that it didn't work out because they were just to hard to work with.

The kids are ok. We are passing around some sort of illness- M had a fever for a day or two, G has a super runny nose and is really fussy- and also perhaps starting the fever. I am fairly certain that I have a sinus infection now. Fun. Mira has been missing me a TON. She's never expressed herself as super attached to me- she's always been willing to go with whomever and never has always had to be with me. Since I took the OR job and she's been at Pepper's 4 days a week she is all of a sudden REALLY sad and needs to be with me constantly. I guess she never needed me before because I was just always there. Now that I'm back in the PICU she'll only go there 3 days a week so she'll get another day with me and hopefully that will help. I've been sleeping with her most nights and trying to make up for it. I assume at some point she'll adjust!

Griffin is doing GREAT. He is trying to say new things every day. His favorite new word is "Maaahhhwahhh." (Mira) SO CUTE. He is always calling for her when he can't see her. He calls for her when he wakes up or goes to bed. He loves play animals, cars, and ball. He also loves babies, but it irritates Brooks so we won't talk about that. He will repeat nearly anything we say. It was really cute on sunday we taught him to say touchdown. He showed off all day. He's just now learning his body parts- it's interesting because though he knows lots of things like Mira did, they are completely different things because their interests are so different. Mira was really into books and he still doesn't have the patience for them. By this time we were playing all sorts of "find the....." in the books and she would point to everything. He doesn't have a clue!

Well, Diego is over so I guess it's time to take Mira up to bed!

Labor Day Lake Pictures

I had really forgotten how much Tablerock Lake feels like home to me. I had missed being there so much. It was great to be there. The kids absolutely loved the lake and had a blast on the water. Griffin was so pissed if I got too close to him and held on.
Tom let Mira help drive the boat. It was pretty cute.

Mira wore this floaty swim suit. I figured she'd be irritated about it but it fit her perfectly so she didn't mind.
Isn't he sweet?

Someday her hair might be cute...

Grocery Shopping.

Oh this was really funny!! At the grocery in Kimberling City they had this little tiny cart. The kids thought it was hilarious! I wish we had one here- she'd have a BLAST, but then it would probably be really irritating too...

Gymnastics

1st day of new gymnastics was last Thursday- to put it mildly- Mira was in HEAVEN. I put her in the 3 year old class because I felt like she is so motor coordinated that she'd be bored with the 2 year old class, the only catch was that the parents don't help at all- we watch from up above. She did GREAT! She marched right up the stairs afterward and said, "I listened to what the teacher said." And she did! I was so proud! She's the one in the light blue leotard and black leggings. Sorry the pictures aren't better!

Pictures of the weekend coming later this week!
