Little Lady
So M was a ladybug tonight- and she hated it. It was hot-she HATES being hot- just like her mother. It was cool outside so she was fine as long as she was out there running away from us, but hated the rest. No real good pics to share- so take what you get.
She was the cutest though, of course.

Happy Halloween Day
So first I'll tell you of our woes...The sippy. M has not been a fan of the sippy. She's not ever been overly attached to her bottle, but she would never have anything to do with the cup and we've tried LOTS of kinds. Well- at her 9 month appt I asked Dr Morris her feelings about taking the bottle away. I have never been one to feel that they need to get rid of it before a year, but she made the point that if we wait too long before the man is born, it'll be really hard to explain to her why he can have a bottle and she can't. Well- I can see the point there. So this weekend I decided she was ready. 
Monday I went and bought a few more kinds (I think we tried 6 or 7 total...And her Monday lunch bottle was to be her last. Well at first it was ok with her because she didn't know she was never getting another bottle. I tried all kinds. If you don't know about sippys some of them have a spill proof valve in them to keep them from leaking- especially if your child likes to carry them around- which M does. So to teach them to drink you're supposed to take the valve out so they get the idea how liquid comes out. So I did- and Milk was pooling on my floor because 1- she hated the cup and would throw it, and 2- she likes to carry it upside down. So that's not an option. So I put the valve back in- she'd take one drink and look at me and scream. AH! What to do! So I drank out of all of them and decided that this one is no harder to get milk out of with the valve than it was to get milk out of the bottle. So here it is. Her milk. The only problem was that I had no way to measure her water for formula without using a bottle- which are in this cabinet...and she knows it.

I had to be VERY sneaky about it...every time I open the cabinet she stares at me like- what are you getting out of there?! Well- today she's doing better. Yesterday sucked- she would scream and hit the cup when I showed it to her. I would hold her and force it into her mouth and she would drink a little here and there. Today Dr. Morris told me that she could drink less milk for up to a week depending on how stubborn she is. But this afternoon she's doing better. Thank God she has a short memory. She's accepting the cup and drinking more each time I give it to her. Get rid of bottle- check!

So we went for our 22 week appt today- I didn't gain a thing! WOOHOO!!! I am feeling so proud. Now if could just stay out of the candy!!!

The Weekend

This weekend I had to work, so apparently Daddy and M had a GREAT time without me :( They went to the pumpkin patch with Mike, Theresa and Delaney. 
I hear she was exhausted after all the playing. I bet!

The Toddler
So it has occurred to me lately that M is no longer a baby- she's a toddler. When did she get like that?! She walks, she talks (well sortof), she eats toddler food, she takes up a TON of room in her crib, and she definitely has a personality. Look at how long her hair is getting! She's crazy in love with her blankets now too- if she's mad and I show her her zebra blanket she just starts laughing and hugs it. It's pretty cute. We have three- two here and one at Pepper's, so hopefully it won't be a problem misplacing it!My friend Val watched her the other day because Pepper had to be somewhere and I get there and M starts going nuts trying to climb the stairs. Val said- "Wow she didn't do that all day! We just told her no and she stayed away!" GREAT! I can see that she totally doesn't listen to us when we tell her not to do something. I guess I should be glad she listens to other people. Our latest battle is with shoes and socks- she hates them. I am trying to find some good shoes that tie because the minute I put her velcro shoes on she is screaming until she can get them off. So annoying. It's not like I can just let her be barefoot all the time now that it's cold. She doesn't get it. Today she kept taking them off in her stroller on a walk so I had to put the blanket bag around her so she couldn't get to them! She was terribly angry about it. I can't wait until she can tell me all about it. She loves to play with her play phone too. She holds it up to her ear and then she'll give it to me. She's so amazing. I can't believe her birthday is in a month. It's scary! I definitely don't want to go back- she's way too much fun right now...but I really miss that tiny baby too.
Oh- she eats again!!! This week she has been SUPER hungry. I was making dinner tonight and trying to make her wait so she could eat it but she just kept screaming, so I ended up having to feed her before it was done. She must be growing...

The Sweetest
M was cracking herself up after her bath tonight. She thought the camera was hilarious. 
She has a big scrape on her head- Daddy had her at Mike and Theresa's on Friday and she fell outside! It was looking better but I hear she fell again at Aunt Casey's today.
We had a big scare today- I had M in her room with me after I changed her diaper- I have to keep her door closed now because she's very interested in going down the stairs. I thought the door was closed and I was putting some things away. Next thing I know it's really quiet. I looked and her door was open- she was already down the first 5 stairs on the landing! AH! I am unsure if she fell down them or got down them backward- she wasn't crying or anything, but she was so close to going down the rest of them. I am sure we'd be in the hospital- probably in the PICU with a skull fracture if I hadn't caught her. We HAVE to get a gate up here.

The Rest
Well Saturday B and I went off by ourselves- boring I know...We went to the Chinese Theater in Hollywood and looked at the feet and handprints. I think he was a bit disappointed because there's so much hype about Hollywood and really it's just kind of a scummy place and not all that exciting. I think he would have enjoyed a bus tour looking at the stars' homes, but he didn't want to pay for it. So we ate there and then went up to the observatory.
In the back of the Kodak theater- you can just see the Hollywood sign.
Griffith Observatory. It was REALLY neat- I'd never been inside because in all the years I've gone to CA I have never known it to be open to the public! There was a lot to see and not overly crowded. It was a nice uphill 1 mile hike though.
Then we went home and got Grandma and Mira and went to Venice. Once again, M loved the beach. She likes the sand, but after I showed her the water it was all over. 
She just kept crawling down the hill to the water. She would have drowned herself in it if I would have let her- just walked straight into the waves.
Here she is on a mission to get to it. 
I ended up having to strip her down even though the weather was a cool 70's and the water was freezing. She kept screaming unless she was sitting in the water and waves. It was a mess. She somehow rolled through some tar that got all over everything. She was literally sitting in the ocean water. The only problem was that each wave is different so I had to be careful about how deep it would get. She would just giggle as the wave receeded. She absolutely loved it. We got some great video but it's so long I couldn't put it on here. Here she is- naked and a mess...
After that I let her play in the dry sand to try and get some of the caked on stuff off.
Thought you might enjoy a pick of the little guy at 20 weeks. Sorry it's not too close. I'm holding steady at 10 lbs of weight so far!! WOOHOO for me! 
The next day we went to Universal... I'll show you the cute pics and then tell you the bad story. Isn't this a funny pic?! She thinks it's hilarious to wear my sunglasses. 
She fell asleep on the tour- it was very sweet.
So the morning we went to Universal I woke up feeling nasty so I ate some bacon and a bagel and thought that would fix things up. Well I was trying not to whine about it too much but I felt like CRAP the entire time. The entire time I was dry heaving but just thought- well, I'm just over tired or something... So after I hadn't really done anything all day, I decided I should at least go to this show thing with B, so we did. After the last part I had to RUN out of there puking and barely made it to the trash can. Great...So we left after that. When we finally got to Marian's I couldn't even make it inside before puking in the grass. I went straight to bed and didn't really move until the next morning. I got up- we had to leave at 5:30 am and puked while I was packing. Then again at the airport and finally started to feel slightly better. I could then keep sips of water and saltines down. Thank God or it would have been a hellish flight! So M slept the entire flight (thanks to Benadryl) and we made it home safely. I stayed home from work Tuesday and still am not up to par. I went today, but my stomach is reacting pretty strangely to food still- lots of churning and cramping action. I knew you wanted to know that. So anyhow- that's the poor note our trip ended on, but it was a lot of fun. I can't wait to take M to the beach again!

The Land of Happy
So Disneyland...we had a good time. Grandma and B rode rides and such and Mira and I walked around the park endlessly. The only time M gets irritated is when she's had enough of the sitting and needs to walk around. We rode the Carousel while they were riding some rides too. M laughed and laughed. 
She decided not to eat while we were gone- basically nothing. I think maybe 8 bites total in nearly 5 days. She's still not doing great but I put my finger in there and found out that her top molars are nearly through- so maybe that explains it. This pic was before we realized the situation. We were trying to find a place she could sit and eat and we sacrificed and had really bad mexican...blech.
Here we were stopped so someone could get some energy out.
Riding the train. M thought all the dark scary tunnels were pretty funny. Give her a year or two. 
M got to meet Minnie Mouse- she kept giving her kisses. It was pretty stinkin cute. 
Then we all rode the Carousel one more time before leaving.
It was a pretty long day. We got there as it opened at 10 and left around 6 I think. We were beat by the time we got home. M did so good! She just kinda goes with the flow. We did take her into the Haunted Mansion which she thought was rather funny.

The Trip
Ok so I know you've been waiting. I think this will have to be in a few installments because of picture overload- so it'll keep you entertained for a few days. We left on Thursday morning- plan left around 11. I gave M Benadryl right before we boarded and she slept over 1/2 the way!! Yay for Benadryl! We got there without a hitch and got our rental car. M was pretty funny on the bus.
We went to Cousin Marian's house- got the pack-n-play set up and went to Ralph's to get some food for M and diet coke for us. When everyone got back around we went to Santa Monica to the pier and walked around the beach.
Wow- M loves the sand and water so so much. She couldn't walk on the dry sand, but it didn't seem to irritate her much. She thought it was the coolest thing.
We have about 100 pictures of her playing in the sand it was so freaking cute. More to come...
