A little fun

Sully is so bored when the kids go to school. He gets super happy to see them.
Yesterday after tae Kwon do I was feeling bad the kids haven't had much of a summer here at home yet. I couldn't get motivated to take them to the pool so we got the slide out. We also invited the neighbor boy over who is in griffins class this summer.
Tons of fun!

Much better and an orange belt!

He allllllways sticks his tongue out when he is "working."
So proud of our Griffy for getting his orange belt!!! The next belt he has to do a pretty long series of movements. It's going to intimidate him a lot. I feel like we need to start practicing NOW.

Still not quite right

Sully is still just not quite right. He was begging for a nap yesterday at 1145. Very clingy and fussy and will barely play much. I can't decide whether to take him to the doctor or not. Those are pretty nonspecific symptoms....
Short stent outside.
A rare moment of me not holding him.
I just wish he would be healthy for awhile!!!

Orange belt.

Another take Kwon do testing passed this Friday. Griffin did great. His confidence is improving but he still has so far to go.
He can always do everything but he thinks he can't and then he won't try.

There are plenty of times he doesn't feel like going, but our contract goes through jan 2015 I think haha. He needs it so much. I really struggle with helping him to feel good enough and have confidence. So proud of our guy. I love how proud he is when he does a good job.

The rest of the day

After swimming we got dressed and headed out to see some more cousins. Cousin Reagan let the kids sit on her horse and the big kids got a short ride. They thought it was pretty cool.

They also got a ride on the tractor!
Sully loves big machines but is a little unsure about being too close.

He did great all day but then about 1am woke up really hot again and screaming. Downed some milk and then threw it up. After I had decided he could stay there with grandma he was now coming home for sure. He woke up ok but still not eating.
Played outside for awhile.
Finally on the way home was begging for French fries and ate nearly all of them. He did have a screaming episode in the car for about 10 mins but otherwise was fine.

Then ended up asking for more and more food.
Last night he slept and slept without waking up. I ended up having to wake him up today at 9:30. He stayed with mom all day an appears to be 100% better. It would have been nice for him to be able to go to the reunion with brooks but as he seems to be finally better, I'm glad he is at home!

Trip to Palmyra swimming!

We got up and Shelby took the boys on a ride in the golf cart. Sully had a rough night the night before and was pretty tired. He warms up quick to all the new family.
We spent the day yesterday swimming at uncle Craig's with the cousins. Sully did get in (which after last night I think was a bad choice) and the other kids swim for 2.5 hours! They had a blast! Sully got really brave jumping to me with no floaties which translated to him nearly jumping into the pool alone.

Griff is getting braver. Does ok at lessons but really still wants his floaties.
Mira is a total fish. I screwed up big time by not getting her in swim team this summer. She does lots of strokes and is working on learning to breathe on one side when free styling.
Sully took a nap at aunt Margaret's.
Griff finally found some boy cousins!!! They had a blast!

Poor sick buddy again....

Last week Mira had a cheerleading show at school. It was big time! Ha!
This is sully one day.....silly as ever.
And happy as a clam.
This is the next. Sicker than ever. Ugh. He woke up Tuesday morning with a high high fever. We were supposed to leave at 9am for palmyra. I called to see if dr m could see him before we left and I was told she could at 11:30. I wasn't going to wait all day for her to look in his ears, so I crossed my fingers it was only teeth and we headed out. Well, half way through the drive it became apparent that his fever wasn't budging even with meds. So we arrived to see the cousins and the big kids stayed to play while sully and I headed to Hannibal for urgent care. They got us right in and yep, bad ears. Again.
He was so so tired while we waited for his antibiotic. The other kids never had fevers or ear infections at all really. I am unfamiliar with this nonsense. So this qualifies him to see an ENT for tubes. I will email when we get home.
Today he is tons tons better. Acting like himself an no real fevers. Poor buddy.

My Griffy is so special

I just love this boy. He's sensitive and sweet, and although "all boy" not such a typical one. He loves superheroes and dinosaurs and trains, but he's not a sports kind of guy. And these freckles, they just make me smile.
He knows his red hair makes him special. This winter when he was making his angel at school he had to specifically ask for orange yarn for the hair. I love it long. He has the softest and thickest hair of them all and I love to run my fingers through it, but for summer, off it goes for a nice buzz. It's hard to get it even because underneath its a very light blonde you can barely see!!! Excuse my uneven lines!!!

Omaha trip

We decided since there were only 2 days off between school and summer school, to take the kids to an overnight trip to Omaha. It was exciting! We turned Sully around in his carseat to face front for the first time. He likes it I think most of the time.
Happy with his loaders and his stars.
After arriving at the hotel we took the kids swimming in the FREEZING COLD pool. After we had been in there for 35 mins I finally asked someone to turn it up and they did. I should have asked before Sully burned his daily calorie allowance in shivering and had blue lips. We went straight upstairs to get in the hot shower and I turned the heat up to about 85 for awhile.
Then we took a walk to find a place to eat. we decided on mexican and picked the very worst restaurant in the area. Oh well. The kids were wild and it wasn't an issue. Griffin had a headache by this point, so he and I went back to the hotel to hang out while B took the other 2 for a carriage ride.
The next morning we got up for breakfast before hitting the zoo. The kids were wild at breakfast! We decided to just eat at the hotel.  They had normal things I thought the kids would eat.  Griffin ate 2 little boxes of cereal! WHOA! Everyone ate pretty good (besides Sully of course).
Dinosaurs Alive was there (it's also at Worlds of fun) and the kids liked it.

Sully was a crab about pictures.

He thinks he's so big, climbing fences to see rhinos and all.
Love this kid.
Loved the tigers!

The boys were TIRED by this point.  Sully fell asleep at the end of the train ride and slept through our last exhibit, the rainforest.  He stayed asleep when we put him in the car even! It was a really fun trip, though short.  Sometimes just a night away is what the doctor ordered.

Silly Griff on the way home. The kids were good in the car for the most part.
All in all a success!
