Another week gone!

This has been a crazy week. First, sully got a sore throat and low grade fever last week. He got a trip to the doctor and a negative strep test.
Then Saturday griff for the same thing but with high fever. So he got his strep test at  urgent care. Still negative. Apparently just a bad virus but man, his throat looked awful!
I went to lunch with griffin the other day. He did great eating lunch there and found a few things he liked, but today when I tried to get him to eat lunch at school we had a big break down. We obviously haven't gotten there yet.
We are settling into our new routine. It's nice that the kids actually do have time to PLAY after school this year, however, when the kids are tired and grouchy, it's not so fun!
Weds we had a birthday party for brooks. The kids had a great time playing and as you can see the bride came.
Thursday morning we woke up and Mira told me she couldn't hear at all out of her bad ear. For some reason I decided to look inside it before putting the drops in. I could see something big inside there! I tried to get it out with some tweezers but didnt get anywhere and she was hysterical. I got griff on the bus and we headed to the er. It turned out good because after determining it was a big pus ball, er wouldn't touch it. So they paged ENT and we waited.
Not for too long but it seemed like it! ENT came and decided we needed to go to clinic where they had more tools.
So she got held down by 3 people and they tried several things. Pulling it out was not working, so eventually she used a sucker to suck it out. That pus ball was HUGE.
She sucked out a bunch more gross pussy stuff and sent us on our way. We already had an appointment this coming Tuesday to plan her next ear tube surgery because she continues to have fluid build up and hearing loss. Fun fun! She says her ear is fine now but today she is complaining about her throat. Great. We will see!

A few from the week

Every day after school these kids spend time together. It's usually only 30 mins or so but they always sit in the chair together. It's sweet.
Sullsie has been a little under the weather this week. Not sure if its allergies or a virus, but with his inhaler we have prevented any real serious illness!!! Woohoo!
Griffy has been struggling at Tkd. I got worried he wouldn't do well enough to participate in testing this time and get his new belt. It's so hard because he really struggles with his self confidence to begin with. He did end up getting his stripe from master Ju after some one on one help. This is master Ju's son Mikey helping griff with his hand position.
Brooks finally put the roof on our at least 5 year old swing set. It looks great!
Potty training the small one has been going well. He waits til he has a pull-up on to pop, but otherwise does great! He's starting to tell us he needs to go instead of waiting for us to remind him! We haven't ventured to far. The only place at home he has accidents is in the basement. I'm Going to borrow another potty so he will know there is one down there. Hoping we've got this conquered!!!

Undies

Well we are starting to work with sully on using the potty. He looks so cute in tiny underwear. We aren't pushing him too much really. Diapers for naps and outings and sometimes just for the basement. He knows when he's going and when he needs to, it really shouldn't take too long.
Problem is I have trouble staying home constantly to do it! Today we got out to go to story time at the library but found that it doesn't start until September, so we just read books for 40 mins and then headed to target to get some pull-ups for his teacher (incase he goes through all of his clothes and undies tomorrow!).
He of course used his diaper when out responding, "I don't want to go potty!" When we were out. He's wearing one now too for nap time in a few minutes. We will see what happens!

I stay with my mommy.

Sully's first day home alone started like this: I woke him up at 830 after my run. Lazy boy!! Just like griffin!
He watched a show and then we headed outside. He wanted to go for a walk. He wanted to walk, but wanted me to push his stroller. He's funny. We made it about 2 blocks and he decided to turn around.
When we got home he played in the sandbox for awhile. Some little girls from across the street came over, but one kept throwing sand in his face so her grandma took them home.
So we did some swinging.

And then had to give his car a bath to wash the sand off.
Then we walked on the blocks around front.
And came in to play cars before heading to get some chicken and fries at chickfila.
Now I am babysitting for a friend while she goes to a meeting at work. Sully is napping for now and the kids are playing.

So far he hasn't missed the kids too much just asked about them a couple of times. We are going to have a fun fall!

First day of K and 1!

Well this year we've been thrown a curve ball of getting up a LOT earlier. I got them dressed and up at around 640. They watched some cartoons while I fixed their breakfast. Problem is, griffin doesn't get hungry for a few hours after he wakes up, but gets migraines if he doesn't eat (and frequently chooses not to). So I had to feed him 3/4 of a waffle. Ugh.
They were ready to go on time and no one complained about going. Griff didnt even seem too nervous. Their classes are only one room apart so that's good.
There they go at 723!
I came back in and emptied the dishwasher, and went down to the treadmill to run. I got in a good 3 miles before waking sully up at around 830. He'd sleep til 930 which would be nice for my morning but then he won't nap and it screws up everything else.
I'm excited to hear about their day!!!

Ready for routine!

Friday we took all the kids to smurfs 2. Sully still didnt make it the entire time, but better than last so we will keep working! After our last week of summer fun, I'm ready for some routine.
Not looking forward to the early mornings, but I'm still ready. Sully will be very sad to be alone and it will be a big adjustment for him. The first thing he wants to know when he wakes up is where Mira and griffin are.
G is nervous about meeting his teacher tonight. He always makes friends the fastest, but he's afraid he won't have any friends in his class. Surely he will know someone from summer school!! I'm really hopeful that Mira will have more success this year at making friends too. Here's to a new year!

Day 3 Zoo!

We spent day 3 at the zoo together. It was cool and gorgeous. Sprinkled a bit when we arrived and threatened rain the entire time, but ended up perfect!
I am so very very blessed.
My lazy lions. We really took our time today. Spent about 4 hours total. Sully loves the zoo the most and liked to really sit and watch the animals. A lot of the animals were outs and about today probably due to the mild weather.

Griffin absolutely loves alligators and crocodiles. Too bad our zoo really stinks in this area. It is the farthest exhibit from the front and there are only 2 or 3 that you can barely see. He would sit there all day.

We didnt leave until after 3. Sully was BEAT.
Tomorrow I think we just have a movie on the agenda. Our neighbor addi has her birthday party tomorrow night. After that we will be enforcing our new early bedtime and outrageous wake time. Back to reality!!!

Day 2 oceans of fun!!!!

The kids slept in til about 930 today. We waited for it to warm up and headed to swim!!!! Sully made it over 3 hours.
Such fun!!
Griffin says, "take my picture mom!" Cute.

Snacks!
A little after 3 I packed up sully and brought him home. He was asleep way before we made it. I picked up his fav babysitter Megan on the way home. I changed and headed to work for an educational meeting. Brooks and the big kids stayed til closing at 7! Everyone is sufficiently done for tonight!!! Hopefully more fun tomorrow day 3!

Last week of summer day 1

So it's the last full week of summer. We are trying to cram it full!!! Our bus will come at 723 and we are STRESSED! Today we started with science city. Alien exhibit first.
There is a pirate exhibit but I wasn't sure if the kids would like it and it costs extra so we skipped it.
Iron man!
They didnt know who this was. Perhaps it's time for Star Wars.
Alligator!
This is their fav part of science city. Digging for bones.

We spent a couple of hours playing around and headed home for lunch and for sully to nap. A fun day. Tomorrow is oceans of fun and daddy's off the rest of the week!!

Lazy week

We had a pretty lazy week here. I would have liked to get more last minute summer activities in, but the weather hasn't cooperated.

Mira went to grandparents camp with mom early in the week leaving me and the boys on Monday and Tuesday. When she got back it was apparent g missed her.
We watched Harry potter on Tuesday night together. They love the movies!

I took the boys to the aquarium on Tuesday. Sully has been obsessed with Nemo lately so I got him a stuffed clown fish. He loves it!!!

He also super loves looking at the fish. Too bad it doesn't even take an hour to go through it and of course we ended up mixed up in a daycare group. Awesome.

Next week is our last full week of summer :( I have very mixed feelings. I am excited for the fall and the baby but I am always sad to see summer go!
