I quit taking a soy supplement I had started and his spit ups all but stopped but the reflux remained. Interesting. I also decided to try and cut out carbonation. Seems like a weird choice to some, but since there are zero food allergies in our family I wasn't really assuming that he was allergic or sensitive to something I was eating such as dairy or eggs. Carbonation seemed like an obvious solution to an upset tummy. It's actually working (much to my dismay). I also started taking him to the chiropractor. Not sure if you remember, but I used to take Griffin when he was an infant. I am taking Sully to someone up here in Liberty. It does seem to be making somewhat of a difference. I also took him to Dr. Morris and she quadrupled his Zantac dosing. He still quite obviously refluxes at times, but we have made great improvements with everything working together.
He will actually sit and play for periods of time now without screaming and lay down for a nap longer than 10 minutes at a time. These are big accomplishments. He still isn't perfect and I'm hoping Dr.M will change his reflux med soon to something that actually works....It's hard to see him hurting...I was starting to worry it was affecting his development because I couldn't get him to look at me or track me when I moved...we didn't talk to him much because we were always focused on keeping him from screaming. So all that has improved a great deal. He's also sleeping from about 10pm - 3am which is awesome!!!
I started working toward training for my September Triathlon this week. I went to the pool for the first time in a year....turns out I can still swim 500m....VERY slowly. I've got some work to do there- my arms were sore the next day...My new bike is here and at the bike shop. I'm just waiting on my new bike shoes before I can get out and ride it. We'll see how awful I do there....I have been running some too- lets just say that defeats me. I can barely run a mile without feeling like I'm dead. Some of it is my endurance and I wonder if that horrid illness I had a couple months back when I needed an inhaler has hurt my running. It isn't helping that my neighborhood is hilly as a mountain. I'll get there, but it sucks right now. Nothing enjoyable about it at all....
While I swam, Sully stayed home with B to take his first bottle....he did great! A big relief since Griffy was so awful about it. I took the kids with me to the gym to play and then took them out to eat. It was awesome just spending some time with them. They seem so easy all of a sudden!!!
That's about all that is making up my life at this time....pretty boring, but it's all I can handle....
