Peanut in a Shell

So I got this peanut shell sling for Christmas- really for the new baby, but it is supposed to be used up until 36 lbs. M fits in it well. Obviously it will fit me better when I'm not pregnant. M gets pretty fussy for awhile when she wakes up and doesn't want to be put down, so we tried it out today. M is transitioning to one nap a day which sometimes sucks. She was really really tired by the time I put her down at 1230, then she woke up screaming at 130 for about 10 mins and slept for another hour. Two hours isn't bad for a kid who's never slept for me to begin with. I work tomorrow but am off for 5 after that, so hopefully we'll have time to get it worked out well. You can see the demonstration of hands up like...what are we doing?! Today we didn't do much. There are lots of things I want to do, but most cost money, so I made myself stay home. M went over to Casey's and played while I went to the gym to renew our yearly membership and work out for awhile. I really need to go down and start thinking about cooking something for dinner, but I'd rather cut my fingers off than do that right now, so I think I'll wait awhile.

Sorry, no pictures...

No pictures this time...just thoughts. You're supposed to have thoughts around New Year's, right? I haven't taken a single pic of M since we've been home. I worked Fri, Sat, Sun, off Mon, and worked yesterday, so there really hasn't been time! I also have no idea where B put my memory card adapter, so there's really no point anyway. God help him if he's lost it...I can't find it anywhere! 9 or so more weeks to go until we add to this family. At my appt the other day there was a newborn that screamed the entire time and I thought, "Oh man, what is M going to think about that?!" It's definitely going to be strange.

She has such a personality. She now thinks "mama" means up because of what I've taught her. She goes up to everyone and says mama so they'll hold her. If you ask a question she holds her hands out palm up like, "I dunno!" She is learning what a cow says, but can't really say "moo" very well. It's pretty cute. My fav is "all done." In this high pitched voice she says, "Aaaahhhh duh!" She's allowing us to read her books more and more. That's really nice. I love it when she brings me one and then backs her butt up top sit on my lap.

It's been an amazing last year with her watching her grow, that's for sure. I am really excited to do it again and I'm getting more and more excited to do it with a boy. I get nervous about whether or not I'll know what to do with him! I need a mama's boy since my girl doesn't seem to want anyone to love on her!

He's been very quiet in there the past few days. I'm trying not to worry about it. He is still breech- which I knew but haven't been worried about. I forget when
M turned but I know it was late compared to most babies. No one really cared at that OB practice either. Well, she told me that if he doesn't turn in about 3 weeks we'll have to start talking turning in the OR....crap!! Then I realized that my placenta is anterior (in the front) and I'm pretty sure that's a contraindication for turning manually because they risk abruption of the placenta. My friend Amanda had a scheduled c-section in September because of this. They scheduled her section at 32 weeks. NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I simply do NOT want a c-section! He's just got to figure it out! You would think with the horror of my last labor that I would be excited at the prospect of this...but let me explain. First, I do believe that God should choose our birthdays. There is a part of me that thinks- wow a week early would be great, but not truly what I want. I think there is something very special about the day he chooses for us. Also, I think that for my mental health I need to know that it can be different. That I can have a baby and it can be pleasant. That my body CAN do the right thing. I also need to know that my doctor can listen to me. Not to mention that if I have a section I can't have Dr. Morris deliver me because she doesn't do them. I think if he doesn't turn soon my anxiety is going to go through the roof. I am just worried he's too big (I feel he's much bigger than M was, and I am measuring a week ahead where I always measured a week or two behind with her). Of course of course, I want us both to be safe and I will do the right thing for both of us, yada yada...but he'll figure it out, right? I'm sure in a couple of weeks I'll be telling you all is ok. Plenty of babies turn late....

There is so much to do before he comes...I sometimes can't fathom it, but I know it will all happen in time. We'd be fine if we just get a car seat. I think I will order that in a week or two and then all else can come later. We have enough clothes now to last a few days at least. I should probably make a list which would help calm my OCD. Alright- time for me to go take a nap as M has finally fallen asleep!! I'll keep looking for my memory card adapter for you!

Christmas Take 2

Ok, so I have to get everything on here that I have because B is taking the computer over to Mike's tonight to revamp it. I'll DIE if he looses my pictures. These are a little of Christmas morning. Everyone woke up and played with Santa stuff and M slept until a little before 8 and then sat and drank her milk and took it all in... Santa brought her a little M sized rocking chair- which she thinks is very fun to rock, but basically just uses it to climb onto other things...Aunt Casey and Uncle Grant got her this cute little table and chairs. I can't wait to get her room rearranged...we are taking the big rocker out of her room and I'm going to put this little set in front of the windows and we have a bookshelf (that I still have to paint) to go in there against the wall. It'll be really cute.B and I got her the little people house- she thought it was fun to stand on. She also likes to stick her legs through the windows and doors...whatever...Then we put her in the box.Not sure why this is blurry, but Grandpa FINALLY finished her toybox! It's beautiful!!! It looks really pretty downstairs. The girls had a good time climbing in and out of it. We tried for a picture...but someone was pretty busy at that point.Other updates:
Now that Christmas is over we are in prepare for baby mode. B is going to move the computer over tomorrow and I need to get all the books onto the bookshelves. Mom and I are supposed to go shopping for the rest of the fabric for the baby stuff tomorrow, but her plane from Denver is already super delayed...we'll see if it happens or not. I need to get the rest of the boy stuff from Pepper and see what I still need to buy. We have a lot to do! My little dude is growing more each day. Here is 30 1/2 weeks...only 9 or 10 more to go! I'm starting to get slightly panicked over having to share my time with Mira. I know she's going to have a hard time adjusting as she has recently started demanding to be held and paid attention to. Things will work out, I'm just starting to realize that this is happening sooner rather than later. I'm also starting to feel the thighs spread and the cheeks and the double chin coming on :( I am feeling huge. I have started going to the gym a few times a week, but it's so hard to really work out. Hopefully it's helping a little anyway. I can still wear my wedding ring, so that's a good sign. The picture actually doesn't look as bad as I feel. I didn't take pics with M's pregnancy so I can't compare, I just have the scale numbers! My mother in law didn't help with all her cookies and brownies! I can't control myself!!! Well, I think that's it for now!! I have to work the next three days- woohoo. Happy New Year!

Christmas

Christmas picture 2007- The Smith's (almost!)

Well, I did a piss poor job of taking pictures in Texas, or so I felt. I really should have taken some video, but I was lazy lazy lazy. I'm terrified to get weighed either tomorrow or next week. Lana killed us with the cooking! The kids opened at least one present every day- the amount of gifts was slightly nauseating (this picture was actually taken BEFORE the majority of the gifts were wrapped). They had a good time. Mira LOVED the rocking horse- it was Grandpa David's when he was little, so well loved. This weekend she discovered screaming in delight. It's hilarious. She'd get on the horse, start rocking, and start screaming with fun.Hey- I'm in this bag! What a great present! She absolutely loves climbing on couches. She was attacking Carly early in the morning. She just laughs and laughs. She has now learned that if she drags something over to the couch she can stand on it and get up there. WAY too smart... Here are M and Reece playing with the fish game- M loved to chew on the fishes and then put them back in the holes. She's really good and putting things inside other things. Lana had this little box that she kept putting a toy car in, then shaking it, getting the car out, and starting all over. I love pictures of her running. SO SWEET! M and da da as she would say. She has now progressed from DA to dada. Great. She only says mama when I make her. She reaches up to me and I say, "What do you say?" and she says, "mama!" That's it. I still don't think it really means anything to her. We were able to play outside quite a bit- it was near 60!With Uncle Kellen. Here's an example of her new climbing skills.B and I gave M this cookie jar that you put the shapes in the side of. She played with it nonstop for about 20 mins. This was the first time I actually saw jealousy. She kept taking it away when Reece would grab it and scream! Uh oh- it's coming! This post is getting a little overwhelming and M's patience is done...so more later.

An Early Present

Alright- this is all you'll get until next Thursday so hopefully it's enough! The other day we decided to give M her Christmas present from us because we are going to Texas and we couldn't bring it with us- we already know we have to bring back a chair and toy box- not sure how we're getting those home either! So it didn't make sense to bring something big and bring it back. We thought it would be better to give it to her early rather than late because after xmas she'll have plenty of new stuff. Here are the pics. (By the way- isn't that the cutest sweater?!) She really didn't understand opening it up- she ripped a piece or two but got very disinterested. She helped dad put it all together!!A pic from today- M really didn't want to take one, so it's not very good. I got her dressed and fed her breakfast and then B watched her while I went and got ready. When I came downstairs he started making fun of me because we were wearing the same thing! Woops! I guess I was in a pink mood today.

Baby boy- just as stubborn as his sister...

Here's some pics from our ultrasound today- you can see his legs directly in front of his face and his feet on top of his head. He slept the entire time- just like M did, but we got a lot better pictures I thought. Oh- he's definitely a boy! A side view of that shot- legs on the right, face to the left upper.
A top view of the shot- you can count his toes! The round thing under his big toe is his head! Crazy.
Such a sweet face. I really think he looks a lot like M.I didn't post more of these because Molly told me last time she thought the black and whites were easier to see on line. Just another 1/2 face. I can't believe how much I love them after we have a 3d...it's totally expensive and our kids don't really seem to like it as they sleep the whole time- but it's so real! I simply cannot wait to kiss his cheeks. I am getting really excited about having a boy. So precious. Anyhow, for those of you who only care about Mira- I'm hoping to put up some pics of her later :) I'll try and get that done before I work tomorrow and friday and we leave Sat for Texas!

Expressions

I know, two posts in one day- EAT IT UP! heh. M has so many expressions- she's full of them! Here are just a few. I love her face. She is very funny- giggles all the time now. She loves to be chased- she thinks it's hilarious when you catch her!She wore this cute sweater I got her at Children's Place today. It was so cute!! Here she was going up the stairs and then she saw me with the camera and came running to get it. She thought this was pretty funny. She'll try and go as fast as she can up (or down) until you catch her.
