So Smart

So I'm going to brag now. Mira can write her name. She started writing it about a month ago with prompting but now she just does it all the time. She writes it over and over again and it's SO GOOD. I'm so impressed that at 3 years 2 months she learned to write her name so legibly and independently. We haven't even done "R" yet in preschool. I guess just all those times of showing her her name and writing it for her she picked it up. You can read it, right?

Presents!!!

The kids each got a movie, a blanket/pillow, and a book. Here they are enjoying their blankies and watching G's new Baby E movie. I was at BRUS yesterday and this was the ONLY baby E movie we didn't already have. haha! It was appropriate though because it's the colors one and we've been working on his colors.

Happy Valentines!!!

Mira was sick last night all night, so I stayed home with her today, but somehow, she's miraculously better today! Great. I feel bad for calling in to work, but you have to make a decision early and when she was screaming with a fever at 1 am, it didn't seem like a good idea to send her to Pepper's! Pepper is sick today too, so it was good to give her a rest. Mira and I did preschool with Grandma today- a laid back day of learning "M" since she already knows it quite well. When Griffy was napping we made our Valentine's cookies! Didn't she do good painting them and putting on the sprinkles?!

Preschool

I'm finally hitting my stride again with preschool. Today we did our second day on the letter L. Yesterday we did ladybugs and today we did lambs. Here she is decorating a lamb and an L with her magnetic pompoms.

She absolutely LOVES learning, but it takes a LOT of time and energy on my part to plan and get things ready. It's frustrating because I can spend 2 hours preparing lessons that take us about 30 minutes. It's totally worth it- she knows all but about 10 letters now. We work on animals (science), letters, math and numbers, shapes, colors, and a few other misc things. I had quit during the holidays because the schedules were so out of whack. You can see it's taken me awhile to get back going!

So we're home

And there's no time to write blog posts again! heh.

Last day of FL 2010

Well, today was a good restful day. We sat around, ate breakfast and hung out here at the condo most of the day. I ran about 4.5 miles this morning- it was SUPER windy but partly sunny at times and nice and warm. After I got home I read and B played DS and we relaxed. About the time we were ready to go, the clouds rolled in along with thunder and it started pouring down rain- good timing, eh? We drove around in some horrid traffic looking for something we wanted to get Tracy (surprise Tracy!), and then stopped at a bar for a couple of drinks and a snack. After that I really just wanted to go home, but our food supply is dwindling, so we needed to go out (boohoo!). We went back to Sharky's because I thought we could sit outside even though it was rainy and cool. Chilly, but enjoyable. I had some fish and chips and brought home another piece of their award winning key lime pie ;). Tonight we are doing laundry and getting packed and enjoying one last night of TV and wine uninterrupted! I can't wait to see the kids tomorrow! I'm nearly physically achy for them!
