I unfortunately missed the beginning of this cute video. M is watching her "Backyard Friends" the Backy@rdigans. She loves all the music in it and, true to herself, has to dance to the opening every time.

Yoooour Backyard Friends.....
Morning time fun with pictures.

Her hair is actually getting LONGER! yay! When she's hot or it's humid it has started curling out like this. So cute.
Pissed that I won't immediately show her the picture.

Zoo and Such
So, this is me. I'm definitely getting braver! I actually wore this out in public today! Seriously! I don't have any before pictures of my fat self to share, so you'll just have to imagine about 25 extra pounds on my face and stomach (mostly). This has been a really hard week for me, exercise wise. I feel like I have been killing myself nearly every day. It's a good feeling and a bad one. My body hurts a lot of the time. It got worse on Sunday when I started getting sore after my first outside run on some major hills. I took Sunday off like usual thinking it would help, but then over did it on Monday. I'm STILL sore. I thought perhaps my swim yesterday would give some of the muscles a break, but still feeling bad. I just walked about 2.5 miles to rest a bit and maybe a short bike ride later. Sigh. (oh, there's something wrong with my eye, AGAIN. I actually don't think it's pink eye this time, but not sure what it is).
We went to the zoo this morning with some friends. M had a great time and was exhausted when we got home. I left her in her room to read and she fell asleep in maybe 15 minutes! Record!
G talking with baby Jack who was an ANGEL!
M and Johnnie.
Stopped at the chimp house for some "lunch."
They thought this thing was funny- push the buttons and hear chimp sounds.
Meerkats are always a fav. So active!

'Twas a fun day!

Disaster in Omaha
We'll start with the fun stuff....because we did actually have a bit of fun. On Thursday night we headed to Omaha to meet mom and go to the zoo on Friday. We went to the pool Thurs night. The pool at the hotel was really great. It was quite large and was a walk- in slope. The kids were totally in control of how deep they went and had a fun time! I brought my goggles and swam some laps. G thought they were hilarious.

He had such a fun time getting in and out of the water by himself.
M loved being able to touch!
G also thought it was pretty fun to put the towels in the water.

I love this kid.
A fair sibling picture.
M getting her hair wet.
And then trying to figure out how to put her nose in.
We had a lot of room service for breakfast the next morning!! I went to work out at the gym briefly and then we went back to the pool for awhile.
It was AFTER the fun that the disaster occurred. We got back to the room after swimming and mom and I both got showered and dressed. We were getting ready to head to the Zoo and I was packing up all of our stuff. G was playing on the floor next to me. I noticed that he was digging for something under the chair by the bed a couple of feet from me. I continued throwing stuff in the bags and when I was finished- probably about 30 secs to a minute later, I went over to pick him up and noted these pills surrounding him on the floor. I honestly had no idea what to do. I was fairly sure he hadn't ingested anything, but couldn't be positive, of course. I didn't see any pills in his mouth or even in his hands, but I knew the right thing was to take him to the ER and after talking to those at work, I knew I had to. I'm not sure what an "innocent" pill looks like, but these didn't look "innocent."
Checking in to Omaha Children's ER.
Playing with the very few toys we had.
Sitting in the ER waiting for tests.
Bored....so bored.
They did a couple of tests and gave him some activated charcoal (which absorbs things in the digestive tract so that it's not absorbed) and we were observed for about 5 hours. They did find out that the pills we brought in were an antibiotic, cardiac (heart) medications and a potassium (quite a dangerous vitamin). It was good we went. We got there around 1 and were discharged at about 6 pm, drove home and went to bed....whew! I actually coped with the situation pretty well- no crying or screaming at all. I was mostly just so disappointed! I love the zoo and the kids love animals so much and we didn't get to go at all! The trip wasn't a total loss, of course, and the kids aren't really old enough to be too sad about it, but I AM! The hotel is supposed to give us our stay for free and hopefully pay for all of our ER bills...I'm hoping it won't be too much of a fight. I am really looking forward to going to the zoo again sometime soon, but rest assured, I'll be inspecting the ENTIRE hotel room next time.

More Royals
Here are some more Royals pics. You can see how full the stadium was!

So cute in her ponies.
M is finally into babies. I wasn't sure she'd ever really play with them. She loves to get them dressed now, feed them, push them around, rock them, etc. It's pretty cute.

Not much else is happening. This is week 5 of my training. It's starting to get tough as my workouts are picking up in intensity. I've lost 20 lbs and met my weight loss goal. I feel great but not quite ready to just be satisfied. I have relaxed a bit though and allowed myself to indulge on occasion. I did get my bike this last week and riding it is a dream. I love being outside! Right now I'm off to the gym to swim!
I am really going to try and do better with posting. I know I've been slack for awhile. Sorry!

The last week in review...
Cute eh? Before we went to the Royals game on Friday- I couldn't stop looking at her- I thought her ponies were so cute!
The best we could do for a family picture. Oh well. The game ended up being a really horrid experience, but the kids had fun, so I guess we'll try it again some time. I have more pictures I'll try and post some time this week.
This picture is from last week I think- pretty funny- G got himself stuck under the stool- B thought it was funny enough to take a picture before saving him.
Reese came over one morning this week- they were actually real meanies to each other- fought a ton, that's the true sign of best friends, right?
G thinks he has to be right in the middle of everything. He loves to climb on the chairs. Such a rascal. He thinks he's big stuff. He is really enjoying coloring too and is only eating the crayons occasionally now. Heh.

Beauty
Yes, she cocoons herself in her "big blankie" every night. She refuses to use her other covers. She's so sweet when she's sleeping.....
My guy isn't feeling very good tonight. I thought he was sleeping so funny. He almost always sleeps on his tummy with his little feet crossed under him so I was surprised to see this when I went up to check on him. I had to take his temp before bed so I kept him in a Huggies. 101.9 :( Poor guy. Will we ever all just be WELL? (No, I'm not sure where is left arm is....) JUST when we start making some huge strides with his eating....

Well...
Not much has been going on. I apologize for the lack of pictures and updates. I have been diligently working out to my schedule. This week has been the hardest for me so far motivation wise. I got a little sinus infection again and it's really drained my energy. I'm plugging along. Anyone following my workouts? What do you think?
I go to weight watchers in the morning. Thus far I am down 18 lbs, 3.5 inches around my waist, and various other inches in other places (down a bra size or more too!) :) I really will be happy with only about 5 more pounds! At this point all of my shorts fit, so I'm pretty happy for the summer.
As of today I am the proud driver of a brand new Honda Odyssey. I know many people cry the day they get a mini van, but I have wanted one for a few years now, so today I rejoice! It's awesome. It comes complete with video and GPS! Lots of toys to play with.
I have been really struggling with Mira lately. She is so hard to parent. I know it's only just begun, but I am really frustrated with myself. I lose my temper so quickly with her because she exhausts me. She is constantly testing us. Her latest stage is the stage where she is purposefully misbehaving to gain more attention. I am trying to do my best to change my attitudes and the way that I handle myself with her. I am also working to give her more of my attention throughout the day and spend more one on one time with her. It will help the more we can be outside and do things. If anyone has ideas of books I can read for parenting a difficult child let me know!
I guess that's about it for now. 3 days of work coming up this weekend. Wish me luck!
