The Weekend

I think October posts will start...The ____ since that seems to be the theme. Well- I worked all weekend and B was out of town, so M spent Sat and Sun with her Grandma. They were very very busy. Saturday they went to St Joe to a kid/dog Halloween contest (the kid and dog dress up). Cousin Murphy always participates. Here's Mira with cousin Max watching all the fun. Then they went to Prairie Village to My friend Sarah's twin boys' first bday party. Here are Sarah, Charlie, and Jonathan. They all had a pretty good time it seems. M wanted to climb up the slide, and they played on the swing, and on some other toys.
Sunday they went to KC, KS to visit mom's friend Carolyn and her girls. One of her kids has a little boy, Caleb- here are the kids together. So that's all for the weekend. On Thursday we are taking M to Los Angeles- yes, to Disneyland and to visit Cousin Marian! I know lots of ppl think that's dumb because she's so little- but it'll still be cute. What an adventure it will be.

The Stash

Ok, so if you want to talk to me about excess, shut it. I thought it would be nice to show everyone our cloth- complete. I pick up something new every now and then and sell something off also, but this has pretty much been it for a long time now. The top drawer will last probably 3 days without washing. The bottom drawer probably 2 days but if we got out all the prefolds it would last probably 4 or 5. So now you see why the excess is NEEDED! (Little man just got his first order of newborn prefolds today but I haven't washed them yet. He doesn't have this drawer storage in his room so not sure what we're going to do about that, but his baby stash will be nearly all prefolds and covers until he gets bigger- they grow to fast at that stage.

This is Mira's diaper changing station. On the left pins (in a soap bar to keep them slick for sticking), disposable wipes, cloth wipes, then the changing pad, then powder, lotion, and diaper rash creams. On the left 2 rows we have all in one's and pockets (very few pockets as I am not a fan). On the right two rows we have fitteds (just no waterproof outer layer). Not as pretty, but so soft! Missing are two all in one's and one fitted from this morning.
Bottom drawer- on the left are night time diapers and fleece covers. Middle back are extra doublers if needed and fleece toppers. Middle front are waterproof day covers and preemie prefolds (to use for extra absorbency and for the little man). In the back right are premium prefolds- still way to big for M so we use them to cover the changing pad and in front of those are regular prefolds which are sometimes used for naps and night. The row on the right are infant prefolds which are what we use daily (when not using the top drawer dipes!). Missing from this drawer are about 50 prefolds! HA! Just kidding...but a lot still (prefolds are CHEAP). There are also three day covers missing. Just incase you were curious. :)

The Snot

Blech! Can you see it?!

The Grouch

Ok, so M has her first REAL runny nose. I HATE IT! It runs down to her lip nearly constantly. I've been giving her sudafed and cough medicine. I tried to get a pic, but it wouldn't focus close up and I never catch it when it's really bad. Her coughing woke her up 3 times last night and I would just rock her for a few mins and then lay her back down. I know she has to feel like crap. She is SO GROUCHY (most of the time). She won't eat or drink much- I assume everything tastes bad. No fevers though- so hopefully it'll end soon.
Here she is sleeping away- she's been really tired.
Ok, so I know this is bad- but the fussiness goes away with Baby Einstein. So what if she never talks, right? She usually watches Old McDonald every day when when we're in the computer room and plays and will sometimes catch a few scenes. This afternoon I switched it up on her and she's watching My first signs. She is enthralled. She is laughing at it and trying to touch the people. She freaking loves it. Her head goes back and forth from person to person on the screen. It's pretty hilarious. Oh- she stood up by herself today!! YAY! All motor skills now accomplished...check. Now if she would only get a word or two- maybe without the baby einstein.

18 week appt...

So I went to see Dr. Morris for my monthly appointment for little man. Everything is fine- I didn't gain a SINGLE pound!! WOOHOO!!!! *dances* I guess I better keep up the walking! We discussed the ultrasound- which she says looks perfect. She said- no, ultrasounds are not "supposed" to be fun- they're looking for abnormalities (which they didn't find). Then she said, "And you know why that is." And I do...So, I should get over it in a sense. She always does a good job of bringing me back to earth when I start to get worried about something dumb. That's why she's good for me. We all know I can obsess about things. So anyway- things are good, little man seems to be happy in there as far as we know. Almost 1/2 way done! Sheesh!
M has a cold- she keeps waking up coughing. I actually got her up last night and gave her some medicine so she'd sleep better. Then I had to wake her up at 8 so I could get her to Pepper's on time. Poor baby. It's always something...

Going to church

Today marks the day we are going to go to church when we can...the only thing bad about starting today is that next week I work, the week after that we are going to CA, then I'll have one week to go and then I work again. ACK! But you have to start somewhere, eh? So here we start. M is not thrilled about this dress thing- she can't crawl and it's royally pissing her off (as you can see).

10 Months

A side note- apparently I can't turn the video right side up- sorry!
Well, I did do a 10 month shoot, just no signage. The pictures aren't very good- as are all pictures I take of her right now. It's impossible to get a sweet one unless she's sleeping. She's so so busy. She runs away from me constantly. She doesn't even stop to eat, she just carries her bottle around with her in her teeth and will sometimes stop to take a drink or two. She'll walk around with it- she's getting good a drinking when she's standing up.
Mom and I took M to the Liberty Fall Festival today and walked around. We came home and walked like usual- I actually walked 6 days this week alone!). The weight gain is going better this pregnancy. Apparently my body likes carrying boys better than girls because it sure has been easier! But oh if God will only give me at least one more girl things will be perfect. Now B is happy with his boy (which I am actually quite happy about as well) but there's just something about that pink. I think this week I will go and look for fabric for his bedroom stuff.
So motor wise the only thing she can't do is stand up by herself without holding onto something. So this is what she does:
Crawl to the wall (or any other likely sturdy object)...Stand up and walk around...
Get to another wall to make sure we're really steady...Make a run for it!
So I was realizing the other day that she's nearly been here a year and I can't believe it. She's so big! She fills up her crib so much now and she's so tall. It's hard to believe she's that same tiny tiny baby. What's even worse is that you know that every year is going to go just as fast as this one and I think, will I even remember it all?? Am I taking the time to take it all in? I can't imagine what it'll be like with the little man here too. Crazy. She is all the joy in my life wrapped up into one. I can't imagine myself or my life without her. She is perfect.
