A Family Birthday

Special birthday party outfit. It was hit!
Picture with Grandma Betty.
Isn't this a cute one?!
While we were getting dinner Mira took a book over and had Grandma read to her. It was pretty cute.
The kids ate in the living room- hotdogs and chips.
Griffy only wanted Carly to put tattoos of Thomas on him.
Opening one of Aunt Molly's presents.
Thanks Aunt Molly!
Here she's wearing her new Sunday School coat and slippers. Nice combo.
Embarrassed for everyone singing to her!

It was a good time! Mira and I made princess cupcakes and she had her own little cake. We went really simple this year with just hotdogs, beefburger and chips. Everyone seemed to have a good time and she loved her loot!!!

Tree Decorating

This was a really really long birthday weekend for Mira- family party on Saturday, friend party on Sunday.....we're tired. I have a ton of pics, but we'll just do a few at a time....

The kids decorated the Christmas tree yesterday! They did a great job!
Picking out his next ornament.
Showing each other their picks.
Unwrapping.
They were super into it!
doesn't it look pretty??

A touch of Christmas

So I got the kids these little semi-Christmas trees at Target for 5 bucks each. They had fun making them tonight!!
Griffin- so proud! His has all sorts of sports balls and sparkly stars.
Mira- somehow she's always the poser now. She has lots of candies and sparkly shapes on hers.

Sunday!

Mira has been BEGGING me to braid her hair because, "She has a lot of hair!" Well, as you know and much to my dismay, she doesn't.....But I did put a little braid in this morning before church. She was thrilled!!! We then had the conversation that if she pulled on it or undid her barette that her braid would come right out.....so it lasted 3 minutes in the van on the way to church. BUT- we have evidence that it existed. We'll try again.
Sweet girl. I'm afraid she's becoming gorgeous....
Reese has been here most of the day. They played outside a lot of it, but here they are inside a bit.
In the baby pack-n-play...I can't believe this thing is still standing...
Note- Griffin is a dog carrying his puppy...he's pretty cute.
Not too much has been going on. I can tell that I'm getting more energy back- some bathrooms and bedrooms actually got cleaned this weekend. I have made a REAL dinner every single night I've been home this last week including Saturday and lunch today! I know- impressive! I do actually like to cook and now that the kids are letting me, it's somewhat enjoyable. Now if everyone wasn't so picky! I have my menu planned for the week and groceries (sans salad greens) bought. Hopefully I can continue!

Not much new to report. I am now 13 weeks. I'm still working out about an hour a day- lifting light weights, running about 2 miles 3 times a week, and walking. I am still putting on the pounds like nobody's business. If this kid isn't a girl I won't believe it. Girls are terrible to me in pregnancy! I have every. single. irritating. symptom I had with Mira. Sweet Griffy let me feel completely normal.

Anyway, that's all for now!! It's pizza and movie night here at the Smith household!! We love to rent a movie on demand and have a pizza picnic in the living room. Fun, eh?

Milestones

Big milestones occurring here this evening....Can you tell what???
Yep- no more crib!
He was actually pretty upset about it when I laid him down- he kept saying, "I need something on there!" He went right to sleep though, so I guess he got over it.
Sweet big boy. He also kept saying- "NO I'm LITTLE!"
And just because I love her so much...
Today was AWFUL. Seriously awful. This morning wasn't too bad, I took them to the park and McDonalds and then we went home. G was tired....but lately when we lay him down he starts in...."I have to go poop." This went on for an hour and a half....sitting on the potty, not pooping, putting him back in his crib. Him screaming, "I have to poop!!!" and climbing out of his crib. I was so tired and angry at him by the end of it I was in tears. Mira was SUPER needy during all of it, which isn't really usual, and it didn't help anything. I truly think his tummy did hurt and he needed to go (as he did finally) but it's getting out of control....Finally at 3 I just gave up.

So on that note- we seem to be completely potty trained. I had trouble for about a week getting him to poop in the potty- he would go in his underwear or wait until nap or night time to go in his diaper. Well, it seems he's done with that. They don't even take him extra times at school- just 4 times a day! He's great about telling me he has to go and he's getting more patient about getting it all out before he runs away! It's pretty weird to have 2 potty trained kids. He hasn't had an accident for a long time now! I think we could have done this a long time ago, but I was nervous. I finally bit the bullet and made him wear underwear ALL the time- even when we were going out, and he crossed over and did it. I still make him wear a pull up if we're going to be in the car for over 30 mins, but he'll usually tell me he has to go.

They are playing together really well most of the time. There's a lot of hitting, but it's usually someone's fault they got hit. They pretty much fight constantly. Mira is really good about playing trains with him (the only thing he ever wants to play). I can sometimes get 30 minutes by myself downstairs to watch a show while they're upstairs in her room. It's GREAT! The messes suck, but it goes with the territory. I can actually make dinner sometimes without being tortured by them.

Mira is excited about the baby. She's always asking to look at my tummy to see if it's any bigger. It's pretty cute. When she first found out about it and heard the heart beat she said, GASP, "We asked God to put a baby in your tummy and he did?! Mommy, that makes me so happy!" It's going to be a new experience having kids that know what's actually going on!

Halloween 2010

So I had to work on Halloween which was just fine by me. They had to get dressed up at school Friday, for their carnival Friday, for the party Saturday and for T-or-Ting on Sunday. I'm over it. Anyway- sounds like they had a pretty good time, but the weekend was LONG and they are TIRED. Here they are with Darin and Angie.

Daddy carved them each a pumpkin! G got Thomas and M got Snow White.

Scooby and Daphne!
So, I don't update much because I know what I actually have to SAY isn't really all that interesting to you, and I don't really take pictures anymore. I know, bad mom. But I did get my photo albums caught up to May of 08! Isn't that awesome!?
