I think I have fixed the problem with the old camera!!! Not sure why I hadn't thrown it away yet, because that's not like me, but I hung onto it and messed with it a few times a week just to see. For whatever reason it was putting every picture on the internal memory (which is impossible to extract them from) and bypassing the memory card. I went in and reset EVERYTHING and now it's working again!! We'll see how long it lasts, but for now, I'm glad!
