Omaha trip

We decided since there were only 2 days off between school and summer school, to take the kids to an overnight trip to Omaha. It was exciting! We turned Sully around in his carseat to face front for the first time. He likes it I think most of the time.
Happy with his loaders and his stars.
After arriving at the hotel we took the kids swimming in the FREEZING COLD pool. After we had been in there for 35 mins I finally asked someone to turn it up and they did. I should have asked before Sully burned his daily calorie allowance in shivering and had blue lips. We went straight upstairs to get in the hot shower and I turned the heat up to about 85 for awhile.
Then we took a walk to find a place to eat. we decided on mexican and picked the very worst restaurant in the area. Oh well. The kids were wild and it wasn't an issue. Griffin had a headache by this point, so he and I went back to the hotel to hang out while B took the other 2 for a carriage ride.
The next morning we got up for breakfast before hitting the zoo. The kids were wild at breakfast! We decided to just eat at the hotel.  They had normal things I thought the kids would eat.  Griffin ate 2 little boxes of cereal! WHOA! Everyone ate pretty good (besides Sully of course).
Dinosaurs Alive was there (it's also at Worlds of fun) and the kids liked it.

Sully was a crab about pictures.

He thinks he's so big, climbing fences to see rhinos and all.
Love this kid.
Loved the tigers!

The boys were TIRED by this point.  Sully fell asleep at the end of the train ride and slept through our last exhibit, the rainforest.  He stayed asleep when we put him in the car even! It was a really fun trip, though short.  Sometimes just a night away is what the doctor ordered.

Silly Griff on the way home. The kids were good in the car for the most part.
All in all a success!

Finally Summer!!!

Oh man we have waited and waited! Still some days are too cold to swim we started swim lessons the first week of school. It was cooooooooold! It's gotten better since.

Sully got a new pool. He likes it but he likes it more when his siblings are home to play with him.

He is still so tiny. 12 month swim trunks are falling off. Still have to buy small swim diapers. Sigh.

Poor Sick Sully

It's been a horrible spring for this guy. High fevers, constant runny nose and cough, etc.

Including pretty rashes.

It all started with a virus at Christmas.

And I just can't keep him well.

This last time he bought himself a diagnosis of asthma (which they now call reactive airway disease) and a twice daily inhaler.

I was worried this week that he was getting something again but looks like maybe he is ok. He needs a few months with no fever!!!'

Our first new belt!

G started tae Kwon do in jan and tested recently for his first new belt. I had to miss testing because it was the middle of the day on a Saturday, but I got to see the belt presentation.
He complains a lot about going to Tkd, but I think mainly because he is tired after school and would rather stay home. It is helping his confidence a ton but he still has a long way to go!
For his next test on this Friday he has to count in Korean which he has been doing for weeks. Every time they ask him to do it he won't do it in class. He says because he can't do it very good. Sigh. This kid needs SO Much positive reinforcement. Mira already has plenty of self confidence of course. I'm not familiar with a kid who struggles with this. It's a struggle for me. I'm hoping Tkd will really help over time. I can already see changes in him little by little.

Here comes 1st grade!

Man it's hard to believe it!!!

Moving on up!

I may never get over him being in kindergarten. I think he likes it but when I ask him his answer is always that he wants to stay home. I think he just wants to make it clear that he would rather go nowhere! He already has 4 friends he can name.

He had the very best pre k teacher in the whole world. Good enough to make me consider pulling sully to that school when he is old enough!! We will miss her!
He also misses Charlie like crazy. I ask him who he plays with on the playground and he tells me he didn't know what to play because Charlie wasn't there!!! Goodness!

There they go!!!

First WOF of the season

A few weeks ago we had a nice Sunday and we went to worlds of fun for the first time this year.
Griffy is FINALLY tall enough to ride all the rides in camp snoopy, although barely, and only with his tennis shoes on!

Griff is getting much more adventurous this year!
We had a lot of fun!!! Sundays are still a good weekend day for us even though I work "weekends." Awesome to work weekend nights.
